Selby Civic Society held a competition earlier this year to find a candidate development for a 2016 "Good Design Award" plaque. These are the bronze plaques that have been awarded by the Society for many years to recognise distinctive and high quality developments in Selby District. You can see earlier awards on the Society website - www.selbycivicsociety.org.uk
Thank you to all the members who submitted nominations for the award.
From an original list of nine nominations ranging from Selby Rail Bridge to a residential property in Thorpe Willoughby, a short list of four developments was chosen for final judging. These were:
1.Community Woodland in Millgate, Selby.
2. Hemingbrough Memorial Garden.
3. Former Whiskers building development in Gowthorpe.
4. Selby Leisure Centre in Scott Road.
The runner up was the Memorial Gardens in Hemingbrough; third place was the Millgate Woodland Development in Selby; fourth place was Selby Leisure Centre.
