Visit to York Cemetery

Event Date: April 19, 2017 Location: Cemetery Road, York, YO10 5AJ

"THE FASCINATING HISTORY OF YORK CEMETERY AND ITS RESIDENTS - A self-drive visit to York Cemetery” on WEDNESDAY 19th APRIL

An afternoon guided walk by Clive Dawson, Chair of the Friends of York Cemetery as a follow up to March’s talk. Meet at 2 pm in the Cemetery, Cemetery road, York YO10 5AJ.

£3 each includes refreshments - pay at the Cemetery.

Free parking available at the Cemetery, or buses from Selby stop 100 yards or so away from the cemetery at the junction of Cemetery Rd with Fulford Road.

York Cemetery is a grade II* listed landscape and one of only two privately owned Victorian cemeteries in the UK. Founded in 1837, it now encompasses 24 acres.
Following the talk in March about the cemetery's history and fascinating facts about the Lord Mayors, military personnel and industrialists buried in the cemetery, this guided walk will, so to speak, put some flesh on the bones of that talk!
Everyone welcome!
