Cholera Burial Ground Memorial dedication event

Event Date: April 12, 2018 Location: Cholera Burial Ground, Selby

Selby Civic Society received a generous grant from Selby Central Community Engagement Forum towards the design, purchase and installation of a new memorial stone to mark the burial place of over 100 Selebians who lost their lives in the 1848 and 1849 cholera outbreaks. A stone installed in 1995 by the Society had been badly damaged for some years.
The new memorial stone will be formally unveiled and dedicated at 11.00 am on Thursday 12th April at an event to be attended by Society members, Selby Councillors and Selby Abbey's vicar, Canon John Weetman.
Meet at the Cholera Burial Ground - opposite the North Door of Selby Abbey - at 10.55 am
