Selby Civic Society will hold a "1969 Film Festival & 'Then & Now' Exhibition" a two-day event featuring four films released in 1969, has now been arranged by your Committee and will be held in Selby Town Hall over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 29th - 30th June 2019 in collaboration with the Selby Globe Cinema.

The Festival and Exhibition will open at 10.30 am on Saturday 29th June with a 2019 film for all the family:

"How to Train Your Dragon - The Hidden World"

The four other festival films are all blockbusters that were released in 1969, the year of the Society's inauguration:

On Saturday 29th June afternoon (2.30 pm) "The Italian Job" and evening (7.30 pm) "Kes"

On Sunday 30th June afternoon (2.30 pm) "Monte Carlo or Bust" and evening (7.30 pm) "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie"

Tickets are now on sale to the public by visiting Selby Town Hall Office Box Office, by phoning 01757 708449 or online at http://www.selbytownhall.co.uk.

There'll be other audio and visual footage of local, national and world events from 1969 alongside the films and we'll also be mounting a photographic exhibition of Selby "Then and Now" together with 1969 memorabilia. We'll be using the festival and exhibition to promote Selby Civic Society to the public.

Your film ticket will admit you to the exhibition area too.

There'll be refreshments available on both days at the Town Hall.

We expect these films to be popular with members and the public, so don't hang around if you want tickets - get them early and make sure you don't miss out....tickets are limited for all the films... and most importantly, please let your friends and family know about the festival. We need your help to publicise this event to make it a success.
